Our History

Nuvoda was founded with a vision to transform and intensify wastewater treatment through the application of new technologies focused on biological processes. In the early years, Nuvoda developed the use of a plant-based media for increased settleability in wastewater treatment processes.

The plant-based media (BioKarrier™) was observed to develop biofilm, which provided additional benefits to the wastewater treatment process beyond just settleability. In 2013, Nuvoda contracted with CH2M Hill to further develop the media-based treatment process. Over a multi-year project, and together with the industry’s top biological process engineers, the Nuvoda team completed the development of the proprietary Mobile Organic Biofilm System™ (MOB). The project also produced multiple US and global patents, all owned by Nuvoda. Since then, Nuvoda has deployed the MOB technology in many full-scale plants, both as permanent installations and as demonstration trials.

The company is now focused on growing its installations, continuing to innovate, and extending its comprehensive solutions to customers worldwide.
